"Ripple Through The Meadow"
I actually finished this one last night but decided to put it aside for a bit. But, on reflection decided it was as good as I could get it without becoming to tight and pernickety.
Looking at it again first thing I'm glad I had left it as it was, the title came as I was transported back to the day I captured the image. It's a little meadow on the Springside end of the country walk cut off from the rest of the fields by a wee burn that sweeps round in a semi-circle. The farmer leaves it and takes hay from it, on this particular day there was a slight breeze rippling through the grasses changing it's colour. It's these little moments I try to capture when I paint an impression of what I saw and felt.

In the studio this morning getting my painting mojo back starting this 12"x12" . A summer meadow to cheer us all up while we wait a little impatiently for some summer weather. Someone is learning the ropes of being a studio helper.....

Just a wee intro to the newest member of the McCrindle family Buddy who arrived in Sunday. He's only 11 months old and too be honest I had forgotten what a handful young poms could be but we love him too bits already and at least he sleeps through the night.....smile!

Meet Charlie, my Aunt adopted him from Cat Protection a couple of weeks ago and today I got to meet him for the first time. I could be a little biased here but don't you think he's rather handsome. She named him after my Dad another reason to think he's just about the best cat in the world.

At long last I hear you all say, an actual painting. Been having something of a painter's block this past wee while. But, this morning this wee jewel just dripped of the brush. Perhaps we've hit a turn in the road and it'll all come back to me....fingers crossed. Or maybe like the rest of us I'm just hankering for a bit more green and maybe a flower or two.

Spike might be getting on the wrong side of his teens. The eyesight is not to good and his hearing has got beyond selective. Add to that the alopechia and you might thing he hasn't got a lot going for him. But, he still knows where the sunshine hits the floor on a sunny day. He has coped quite well with the loss of his brother, though he has become more clingy towards me and gets very upset when I go out without him. When we lost Joshua I said that was it when Spike passes there will be no more animals, not even a goldfish. Ha, a little while ago I came across a video of pomeranians doing an agility class and my heart started to thaw. I then came across some on facebook, the thaw became a trickle and I now find myself looking through the Pomeranian Handbook. It's not going to be easy these little furballs are like gold dust but I'm looking for an older dog that would fit better into our wee group. So, fingers crossed and watch this space, there might be a newcomer to the McCrindle residence soon.
